Allman will perform an acoustic set with his lead guitarist and music director Scott Sharrard before festival headliners ZZ Top. “I just can’t wait to get back out there,” said Allman. “I’ve gotten so stir crazy these last few weeks. I feel best when I’m traveling and playing. That’s what keeps me going, and there’s no better place to start than Red Rocks.” Gregg is looking forward to sharing the stage with the incredible talent of the other bands on the bill; Richie Furay Band, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, Gabriel Kelley, Lucie Silvas, Levon, and People’s Blues of Richmond.
Named after Allmans’ classic 1973 solo debut, the Laid Back Festival offers a stellar line-up and mouth-water roster of food and beverage vendors. The festival at Red Rocks is number 4 out of 5 in 2016. The last festival will be in Atlanta at Lakewood Amphitheater on October 29th. Stay tuned for more fun details about the Atlanta festival.
